Every Special Child is hiring a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and support the communication and language development of school students. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders and difficulties in students. Your primary focus will be on middle school-aged children, addressing speech, language, and social communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in middle school students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and integrated intervention approach.
- Provide direct therapy services to students through individual or group sessions.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
- Offer support and training to teachers and staff to promote a communication-friendly environment.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable insights to the team.
- Stay current with research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. (Preferred)
- ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certification.
- California State licensure or eligibility for licensure in speech-language pathology.
- Experience working with middle school students, understanding their unique needs and challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with school staff, parents, and students.
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate therapy materials.
