Connections Education Center, a Palm Beach County Charter School that services students on the autism spectrum and those with other related disabilities, is seeking a full-time CF-SLP / CCC-SLP to service its students, aged 3-14. As an integral member of our interdisciplinary team, the SLP will play a crucial role in enhancing communication skills and promoting social interaction and play skills for our students. Clinical and professional growth is a high priority and is promoted via training and supervisory support. Prior special education and AAC knowledge/experience preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' speech and language goals, considering their unique needs and abilities.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication disorders, both individually and in group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to integrate speech and language goals into the students' academic curriculum and daily activities.
  • Monitor students' progress regularly and adjust intervention plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports, and other relevant records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable insights to the development of students' education plans.
  • Stay current with best practices, research findings, and professional developments in the field of speech-language pathology.
 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Florida state license or provisional licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based assessment and intervention techniques for a variety of speech and language disorders.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse learning environments and individual student needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards of practice.
