Because the instructor is excellent. I took this because I have a student who sounds raspy and loud. But I feel inefficient in the area of voice. I had to remind myself that the excellent instructor has experience almost daily. I still disagree with the answer on the exam about the grandma and the college student. Then again, I feel that cardiovascular exams should be automatic for everyone in spite of lack of symptoms.

Very great course. Content was very accessible and communicated clearly, which is not always the case in voice disorders. AKA, I feel general SLPs can really digest this information because of the presenter's style and expertise. I wish there could be more time to go over some aspects in detail. But the video is great because I can review material over again.

I thoroughly enjoyed this presentation. I have spasmodic dysphonia and have never taken a class or had a doctor explain voice disorders as completely or clearly as Lauren. Lauren, I wish you were here in Phoenix, Arizona instead of North Carolina. Thank you so much for this excellent presentation.

The presenter provided very good information about how to do perceptual voice evaluation. The reason that it will not affect my work and didn't increase my confidence in the topic is that I did not learn anything new. I teach a graduate level voice course and this is all basic information that I already cover in my course. This would be a good course for someone who never took a graduate level voice course.

Once again, the speaker effectively communicates the purpose of the various tools to assess voice issues and techniques/strategies to improve the vocal quality. I now have a better understanding of the primary assessment tools and may be able to adapt the information on the relatively rare occurrence of working with a school-age student with voice concerns. I would be able to conduct an evaluation more confidently and make more informed recommendations to the family.

Lauren Fay is a dynamic speaker with a palpable passion for voice evaluations and therapy. She gives detailed information that is clear and 100% functionally applicable to our daily work as SLPs. She makes the larynx and vocal tract come alive! This is the fourth course I have taken with Lauren and I can't wait for the next one. If only I would have had Lauren for a voice professor 35 years ago, I might have gone on to specialize in voice therapy!
