I love using the EET, and this was a good refresher of the underlying rationales for semantic feature analysis. There were also good suggestions for how to teach the strategies/scaffold the students rather than hope for incidental learning.

Even tough this presentation was focused on school-based SLP's, I learned a lot about applying SFA with adult aphasia patients. I work in an out-patient adult clinic and use SFA with most of my patients with aphasia. This course gave me more ideas and specific ways to introduce verbs and adjectives into my SFA treatments. Just today I was trying to explain to a patient the difference between memorizing nouns and use of SFA to recall the noun. Thanks for this dive into SFA and metacognition.

I was hoping to learn more about this topic, but that did not really happen. This presenter, to me, was very confusing when presenting information; contradicted herself several times; repeated the same information several times; and often did not thoroughly address the topic. I have attended other workshops/presentations in this area that I felt were more beneficial.

I work with adults and this was definitely more catered to school populations. I was very bothered by the presenters continued use of unnecessary phrases like, "What you need to do is . . . " "What I'm going to have you think about is . . ." "You can go ahead and . . . " Individuals with disabilities typically learn best with fewer words and more straight-to-the-point communication.

This course was excellent because it provided a clear and practical understanding of semantic features, helping to break down language into meaningful components like category, function, and associations. By focusing on how these features relate to word classes (nouns, verbs, adjectives), it enhanced comprehension of language processing, making the material relevant for both linguistics and therapeutic applications.

I loved this speaker's style of teaching! The subject matter was interesting in that it made me realize the need for direct teaching of how to gain greater semantic and syntactical knowledge after practicing with basic tools interaction, scaffolding, fading and reinforcing the student's practicing internal dialogue (exec. func.)in order to develop the ability to retrieve and explain their knowledge to others. I've always tried to encourage greater executive functioning ability. This was great!
