I found it unfortunate that any mention of DiAngelo's work was included in what was otherwise a valuable presentation. A work that is completely condescending towards people of color by an author using the topic as a money making machine would be best left out entirely. Some use of recent statistical data to reinforce the ideas in the presentation versus generalizations/presumptions would also be of benefit.

The topic does not belong here. It is controversial and although it is something to consider and discuss, it has no place on this website. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs of what is fair or unfair in this world. Not all of us were lucky enough to be born in Beverly Hills or in a white wealthy environment but life is what you make it. One has to work hard to achieve their goals no matter what type of discrimination we face or color, age or sex that you are. Life is what you make it. Life is not ever fair.

White privilege has nothing to do with judging and oppressing black or colored individuals. It is a made up construct to cause division between humans. Being taught how to treat people kindly and love others from an early age at home no matter who they are or where they come from is what makes that difference. Also, the first example of Keisha and Sarah is complete contradiction. Keisha got the "internship" because she had transportation and Sarah didn't, is an example of privilege. This whole presentation was a virtue signal.

the speaker was pleasant to listen to and you can tell she is passionate about the information she is sharing. Also, I think it is important to examine our privilege and be aware of it. We also need to become more culturally sensitive. I loved her illustration of equity vs. equality. We all need to focus more on equity and helping everyone obtain the tools they need to be successful! This was a good presentation.
