I am retired but continue to work occasionally. However, this course gave me much needed research and practical information to be excited about the implications for cognitive training for those I know dealing now with memory concerns and/or MCI diagnoses. So - very research based information, and specific info for planning cognitive training programs, as a starting place, should I choose to do so.

Solid review of current research related to the topic, well presented. Throughout the content of the presentation the impression was suggested that age-related cognitive decline was inevitable across the spectrum of older adults. I do not support that position. How else do we explain those with advanced age having high-functioning cognitive skills, excluding JoeB? (From a fully credentialed 75-year-old SLP.)

From the course description I had hoped this course would include more definitions of therapy strategy to use implementation. While it was wonderful that she outlined what the 10 week course she uses and the supporting literature that led to that program, it still did not tell me how to implement therapy week to week for patients that are not doing her 10 week program.

The information was good, but I cannot put this in practice as I conduct individual sessions rather than group sessions due to insurance . Wish there was more information on specific intervention rather than just the evidence that “it” works. I liked the description of MCI and learned more about that, but wished that it was more treatment centered.

The information is just slightly related to my specific work as an SLP but it is extremely relevant to my life and those who I know since so pertinent to all brain functioning and especially to the seniors in my life. MCI could be a next focus of mine as an SLP. Who knows? The presentation was well structured and included lots of research for the subject. The speaker talked from the notes which is not quite as engaging as when speakers talk extemporaneously and give specific client examples. Overall very good and interesting.
