Dr. Hudock, a person who stutters himself, is an Associate Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Idaho State University. He was the Founding Director of the Northwest Center for Fluency Disorders that offered a two-week interprofessional intensive stuttering clinic (NWCFD-IISC) with Speech Language Pathologists collaboratively working with Counselors and Psychologists to treat adolescent and adult clients who stutter through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) informed frameworks, Motivational Interviewing, and Interpersonal Relational Counseling skills. His current areas of research focus on better understanding, evaluating, and treating the psycho-emotional-social and functional impacts experienced by those living with stuttering and cluttering; interprofessional collaborations with mental health professionals; and the neuroscience of speech perception and production in people who stutter using high-density EEG and other biopsychophsyiosological methods. Dr. Hudock has received various funding to support his research, clinical endeavors, and educational outreaches. He has over 30 peer-reviewed publications, 120 international through local presentations with several recent ones being invited keynote and full-day talks, and one TEDx Talk entitled “Please don’t finish my sentence” about the experience of living with a communication disorder.

Steff Lebsack

Steff Lebsack is a person who stutters (neurogenic), has been a speech-language pathologist since 2009, and has practiced in the public school, university, SNF and hospital settings. Steff owns Lebsack Speech Therapy, a private speech therapy practice that focuses on the treatment of people who stutter. Steff is an adjunct faculty with the Baylor University online master's CSD program and MSU Denver, teaching the graduate-level Fluency Disorders course. Steff is also currently a PhD student in the Rehabilitation and Communication Sciences program at Idaho State University. Her current area of research includes agency and locus of control/causality in children who stutter. Steff has presented nationally and internationally on topics of stuttering and is currently the Chair of Stamily, an international non-profit organization for people who stutter and their allies. She lives with her husband, Kevin and their two beautiful young children Mary and Karter in Denver, Colorado.
