As a practitioner in early intervention I often have discussions with peers regarding whether a particular child is strong-willed or possibly needs to be referred to a specialist. This course has helped me better understand the differences between strong-willed and possible ODD.

The presenter was knowledgeable and the course was very informative. I am personally confused between Adhd and ODD. There is a child in my class . diagnosed with ADHD. Most of the time she is a sweetheart. Sometimes ,however, she is defiant and has meltdowns in the class. The school says this behavior is from the ADHD. I wonder could it be ODD too. The research and references given were appreciated in the presentation.

This is my first course in learning about OCDC and always wondered about certain kids, including my neice (that her parents had labeled as this....now know she was not)....and this was very enlightening and I will continue to think and think on this. It is so hard to get past some of kid's baggage and behaviors to get to education, but know that it is just one of the steps.
