The contributor did an excitement job giving both the benefits of collaboration between services and some helpful practical tips on how to implement. Usually people lean to heavily to the “why” or the “how” without the other. This had good balance of both!

Great course! The instructor was very knowledgable on this topic. I appreciated her advice on how we can assist colleagues and administrators to understand our role as SLPs due to our expertise in treating communication deficits that are often comorbid with executive functioning issues. All the handouts are practical and informative for those working in high school settings or working with young adults.

This sounds like Jessica created a great network and a cohesive team of professionals within her school to really help a lot of students. I am a medical SLP in a SNF. I would like to see a program like this work with adults to compensate for their decline in cognitive skills. She is a fun, creative SLP.

I enjoyed this course and came out with some practical ideas to support older students as a team, which is exactly what I needed! My only note was that for a few comments for the case study- there may be some extra nuance that I might be missed- e.g. social settings being uncomfortable and pushing through was positive- I think that could be received in the wrong way as that we should encourage masking in uncomfortable scenarios.

I thought this prresentation was very organized and I loved the outlines, graphics and lists she used to present her information. It was very helpful in providing strategies about how to collaborate effectively when encounting some resistance in schools.I thought her ideas on how to start a collaboration were easy to follow and easy to implement. I know I will use the strategy to recommend an academic success center that students with these problems can access. I know I will use her strategies.

I like that a framework was provided and explained to the best of Dr. Brown's ability. As a seasoned school therapist, who also has a degree in school administration, I felt that the content was filled with buzzwords and lacked deep discussion of real life challenges in logistics (eg. collect data from checklists from teachers every day).

Having lived all over the country, including Ohio, I understand how the general cultural background there would make this idea seem new. I've been an SLP for 30+ years and this idea isn't new-even though it's a good one!! The transdisciplinary approach she advocates is great and the norm throughout most of CA and other large metro areas. However, I really have lots of legal and ethical concerns about serving students not on an IEP as she advocates.

The presenter was highly skilled in discerning the needs of H.S. students with executive function deficits, the adverse effects which these have on overall communication and participation of student and those interacting with student. This SLP was also very creative, compassionate and astute in her knowledge and problem-solving creations freely offered to combat push-back from other staff/family members re: a non-traditional SLP role (multi-tiered/collaborative) in the H.S. setting.

I appreciated the focus on and arguments for using a trans-disciplinary care model. The team based goal writing tips were good, as were the tips for collaborating with other professionals. Presenter's Academic Success Center sounds AWESOME! (Was mildly curious if professionals noted any social stigma associated with it, perhaps overheard in hall discussions/comments made by students not involved in the center? Do students involved in the center show any reluctance in attending???)
