The presenters compassion for those with dementia is reflected in her enthusiasm to teach others how to empower and facilitate independence to those with dementia! The presenter makes the session interesting. Left me feeling enlightened and compelled to expand my scope to address ADL’s to improve functional tasks and well being.

Super interesting course and perspective in our roles as SLP and communication. I like that she shared from personal experience transferred into the clinical setting with real, evidence based examples and therapy. She gave clarity on documentation as communication (receptive/expressive) based versus "task" based and how to talk with co-workers/caregivers about our role---as we are the ones TRAINED in communication. Highly recommend this course.

Father recently passed from dementia. All of these CEUs are valuable tools to deal with people professionally and personally. I loved the presenter's style; the video she did with her husband, the way she communicated about her patients and being "real" with them. Her compassion showed via her presentation. I really enjoyed the subject matter as it's so relevant to every day living and being able to understand how to better assist dementia patients.

In my opinion, Adria's presentation was excellent and full of passion and great information. Her care and concern for her patients, caregivers and family show through. She appears to have a wealth of knowledge regarding types of behaviors seen dementia. This SLP is a true advocate for those patients with dementia as she also attempts to always treat them with kindness and respect while determining an individual plan just for them despite difficult behaviors.
