In my opinion, Adria's presentation was excellent and full of passion and great information. Her care and concern for her patients, caregivers and family show through. She appears to have a wealth of knowledge regarding types of behaviors seen dementia. This SLP is a true advocate for those patients with dementia as she also attempts to always treat them with kindness and respect while determining an individual plan just for them despite difficult behaviors.

I love how practical this course was in showing how SLPs can assist with bathroom ADLs. I especially enjoyed the visuals, such as with the memory aids and the Montessori method with clothing. The simulated presence therapy is a neat idea because it helps family to participate in care, even when they are not physically present to do so. The portions on staff communication to people with dementia should be shown in ALFs and SNFs nationwide.
