The speaker explained it in a way that non-respiratory professionals could understand. But I would absolutely still defer to my respiratory therapists' experiences than my own knowledge. I still need a lot more information before I feel comfortable making decisions regarding respiratory input.

I don't believe there was much takeaway from this course. I already had an understanding of the respiratory issues in the NICU and hoping to find out how these impact speech, language, feeding and swallowing. This course was more geared toward someone in nursing.

I thought this was an excellent course. As a speech pathologist in an outpatient setting, I treat many NICU graduates with extensive health histories. I work with the Early Intervention population. I am an SLP and I do see preemies - well past their "acute" phase but sometimes I have kids still on vents, respirators and with the chronic conditions she listed. This was a very good review of how the conditions originate.
