The content of this presentation is relevant and applicable to the school-based SLP. I'm going to be honest and say that it often feels very overwhelming to target reading comprehension on top of our caseload/workload. I hope to take away some key points from this presentation and incorporate it to my practice.

This is the best course I have ever taken. My curiosity was mildly piqued from Part One. I had no idea how interesting, informative and understandable this second part would be. I plan to print the transcript and use it as a regular reference. Our background as SLPs really does provide us with a great foundation. Whereas I always felt a bit disconnected from our influence on reading comprehension, I now am so excited to be a meaningful contributor! Thank you!

This course was excellent in breaking down the language components that tie into successful reading comprehension for students. So many factors were discussed that are necessary for successful reading comprehension (vocabulary, morphology, syntax, and specifically mental imagery) I appreciated the goal setting examples at the end of the course that recommended focusing less on the words themselves but being able to state category, function as well as describe with size, shape, color, etc.
