Her presentation style and useful handouts. It was a good refresher for me - particularly about the pharyngeal constriction which I realize with several of my students, I have not spent enough time on! Also, loved the picture she is drawing with her students. Really functional ideas to put into place immediately with my students.

Angie Neal provides effective instruction techniques for working with students who have difficulty producing the /r/ phoneme in words, phrases, and sentences. She provides specific instruction for the various typical problems students present in producing a correct /r/ and the various vocalic /r/s. I knew some of the techniques she presented but was surprised by some that I had not tried before.

I have been out of practice for 3 years, teaching English overseas, but am now back in the States, getting reconnected with family and friends. My nephew shows signs of articulation troubles from the time he started speaking. He's now 7 years old, and still having issues. Not sure it's solely the /r/, but that's definitely one issue. This short course helped refresh me on articulation basics, as well as giving me some new strategies - hopefully mom and dad are on board and I can get started!
