It was informative and helped to guide treatment using interdisciplinary multi-modal interventions, including dance and music therapy. It was also beneficial to learn about preventative screenings/measures that can be completed to determine whether or not past trauma and/or other genetic factors can increase an individual's susceptibility to PTSD.

This topic is very specific, and one that I have not really encountered in my career, but I think the information presented is very important and there should by an effective way to assess and treat patients who are suffering from PTSD. I found it very interesting and helpful, and I think the presenter was very good at covering the pertinent information.

This course exceeding my expectation. Linda touched on the high prevalence of PTSD in our veterans that is higher than US civilians which was an eye opener. The course content was most helpful since the facility I work at is treating an increase of VA patients so this information will be valuable to have if we receive one with PTSD.

Working with PTSD/trauma based students helped me to understand and establish a good relationship with student, provide a safe environment and allow frequent breaks for an effective session. PTSD affects pragmatic skills, recall information/memory, fluency or repetitive speech. They may have a slower rate or monotonous tone. This course helped me understand and to be more mindful when dealing with this type of cohort.

The topic of PTSD was a new subject for me. Even though this course mainly dealt with the adult population, we are now seeing more and more children in the school setting that have been through trauma. It was a good course to begin the topic of trauma and how it is associated with speech and language disorders such as speech fluency, slower rate and comprehension to name a few. This course has brought to light the aftermath of dealing with trauma in the area of Speech and Language Therapy.
