The explanations were simplified in a clear and concise way with nice analogies to help; content is critical in he time of heightened anxiety and trauma in our students; The overall topic/content was great- gave me things to help me manage my fight or flight and become more in my ventral state so that I can help my neurodivergent students at school and my own children at home.

I'm not entirely sure how useful this is for SLPs when someone comes in saying this is very "science-y" and we took neuroscience in our undergrad work. I am very interested in psychology and how the brain works. I don't like that she diminished that in her presentation. I can understand how this may help some, but didn't really go back to how it relates to speech much and how it can be used in therapy.

This was one of my favorite courses I have had in a long time. The information explaining our bodies responses to our environments, and how to recognize them and manage them, is helpful for not only helping our clients but also recognizing and managing these nervous system responses within ourselves.
