It was a nice review with research to support information I already knew such as limiting screen use for infants, and the connection between play and language. I think having a neurodivergent (e.g. Autistic) perspective would have been helpful because expectations such as those in Westby’s Play Scale can come across as ableist.

This was very functional and digestible information to share with parents on the importance of play, in hopes that they will exchange play for "academic and educational games" on Ipads. This message today also has the possibility of empowering parents in their child's early development (as opposed to thinking screens can "teach" better).
