AMAZING!!! Loved everything about this presentation. As a bilingual speech-language pathologist, I don't know how many times I have discussions with other Spanish speaking colleagues that were ready to qualify a child based on a dialectal difference! It's so very important to complete that background information with parents and determine what type of Spanish is spoken at home and what kind of model the child has been exposed to.

This is one of the most helpful courses I have taken! I am from Texas and grew up in a divorced home one Speaking English one speaking Spanglish, as well as all the other children in my environment. I consider English as my first language. There are so many bi-lingual children that I was never taught about the differences in dialect pertaining to speech therapy assessment and teaching .

Providing examples of phological process for Spanishi speaking children and/or individuals. I can speak Spanish and recently applied for a position in a hospital in which they were looking for a Spanish speaking SLP in my area, and this will assist me in improving my skills to become a bilingual service provider in the future. Unfortunately, I was unaware of universities with programs for aspiring bilingual SLPs whilst I was in graduatte school. as I am now.

I work at a school with many bilingual spanish speaking students so this course is particularly relevant to me.
