It really opened my eyes. I didn’t know that there was such a thing as compassion fatigue, but it makes a lot of sense. It also gave me a way to self monitor for signs of potential compassion fatigue and what to do if I see such signs. Also to support my coworkers and bring to their attention if I suspect they could be at risk

We all work as SLP's and other therapists in a variety of settings, and each one brings different stressors to our lives. Having coping skills and talking with supervisors about it is important.

Wow! This course was such an important topic, although not often talked about. I think our field deals with a lot of burnout and we don’t talk about it. I loved how this course explained real life examples, prevention, self-assessment scales, and just ways to feel better. It also made me feel better that I am not alone in this! Especially because I am currently working in a virtual setting, I don’t have a teacher lounge and coworkers that I can speak with about these topics.

A lot of it I knew, but was re-affirming. I would very much like my place of employment to have a workshop on this during staff development day, as I work with a lot of people that would benefit from this information.

The course would be helpful to the heads in a workplace. This is something we struggle with a lot in our field so learning how to decrease this but also having ways to measure the stress outcomes increases the likelihood it can be carried over with other disciplines.

I thought that the information was helpful but the majority of info was presented academically in lists and definitions which honestly just blurred together after a while. Perhaps this course could be broken up into two 1-hour courses and might incorporate more anecdotal / real world examples of the concepts mentioned to make it more 'real'.

Perhaps the most helpful thing was seeing the presenters model of how to talk about this in a professional setting. Much of it was intuitive or common sensical to me, but I also default to some of my own religious language. So it was helpful to hear how to convey some of these concepts to a non-religious audience.
