Presenter was to the point, knowledgeable, gave examples and showed relevancy. She gave great practical strategies for preparing for an IEP meeting, some I didn't even put much thought on, such as knowing your visuals. Presenter discussed and explained relevant code of ethics clearly and effectively. It was good to hear that others, presenter included, experienced similar meetings, positive as well as contentious, made me feel better about my meetings. Great talk on data baseline.

I think the overall theme of "What can I do when other people are wrong but I am right" is not the way to ethically approach conflict during IEP meetings. I think it would help our profession so much if we were able to ask questions and gather information rather than assume that we know what's best. There is so much nuance in our work that asking something like "What led you to that decision?" or "Tell me about your experiences with (x)" would help bring context to situations.

I have been in this field for many years and it's always nice to hear other's experiences during IEP meetings and how to collaborate not only with the other related service team members but also when advocates are a part of the IEP team. Collaboration is not always easy, especially when trying to explain the concept to admin!

I didn't gain much objective information about ethics. Anecdotes are useful, but not the be-all, end-all. Refering to one's own experiences are not either. In my opinion, none of the visuals supported any important information. They were moreso fluff.
