I was surprised there was a course on multi generational work settings which is the type of work setting I am in. It was helpful to learn that there are many dynamics going on in my work setting affecting communication, work styles, et al. I will get the brain colors book to further learn about.

I found this course very interesting. I liked the way she broke down the different generations and told world events that happened which may have helped shape who they are. She explained each generations possible communication style and motivators. I also found the brain color information very interesting. I look forward to going to the website and taking the quiz. All of this information is relevant to working and communicating with people of different ages.

The presenter may have fed into some overgeneralization that has been entered into popular literature. I have found that there are other more relevant ways of determining work style, mentoring needs, etc. The presenter mis-read some of her slides, and may not have been as well-prepared as would have been optimal (e.g. cliques and cliches are not the same).

As a DOR, I found the charts extremely helpful. As a Millennial, I sometimes struggle relating to the Gen Z population. This course really opened my eyes to new ways to communicate with my employees. I also really love the 4 questions in the generation game; I want to play this with my staff! :)

Some of the information was confusing when answering the questions. I had to rewind a few times. Responses were not direct and I felt that I had to interpret was she was trying to convey. But it was a good informative course.

I think the explicit breakdown of the characteristics for each generation is beneficial as knowing where they are coming from will help with choosing the right positions in the work place. For ex. knowing that millennials are team driven will help place them in the right environment when hired.

This is important information to consider in working with colleagues, clients, and students. However, it was not the most engaging presentation. The presenter read through several lists. On the Quiz, it says the correct response to the following question is Millennials, but it should be Baby Boomers, as I *think* this was recorded in 2020. The chart (page 7 of slides) includes percentage of workforceWhich generational cohort represented the largest group of workers in the workforce as of 2020?
