Dr. Jo follows Greenspan and Wieder’s model, DIRFloortime® when working with children and families. She is the author of the "Comprehensive Guide to Selective Mutism" and has a special interest in the social-emotional development of young children and its impact on their speech and language skills. She co-founded a private school called REConnections Education Center in the Tampa Bay area of Florida which supports children with various individual differences.

Lyn trained as an occupational therapist in Oxford, England. Her love has always been working with children and throughout her long career she specialized in autism, epilepsy and abused children. She also trained as a play therapist with the Institute of Dramatherapy in the UK and was a founding member and first chairperson of the British Association of Play Therapists. She is co-owner of Play For Real Therapy Services with her husband, Peter, and is certified in sensory integration. Play For Real provides high quality therapy for children and their families using a client centered and evidence-based approach.
