Good introduction. Nice review of the sub-types of MCI. I appreciate the emphasis on amnestic vs non amnestic MCI. Good emphasis on the importance of assessing executive functioning. Interesting discussion of self-reporting vs non-self-reporting in the MCI population with good emphasis on the importance of collecting collateral history.

The information on the importance of cognitive assessment and how important speech therapy intervention was highlighted. I appreciated how the research was presented in an understandable way without. So many times courses are so heavy on the research that there is not much information that can be immediately implemented. Not the case here.

The course encompassed a holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment of mild cognitive impairment. Further, the content delineated a need to look beyond a single diagnostic marker. Clearly, multiple indices have been important to derive a differential diagnosis. It appeared that categorical analysis yielded inferences to relevant predictor variables associated with likelihood ratios. Qualitative research methodology may inform clinicians on how to use binary data for evidence-based practice.
