The speaker was thorough in discussing this topic and providing concepts that I was not aware of as a Middle school to high school therapist. “Growth mindset” and therapy techniques/toolkit were all excellent ideas to incorporate with my middle school population who can be very challenging. Thank you so much!

I have been waiting for a course just like this one. I work in a high school and these ideas were so practical and I can't wait to use them with my students. It also helped confirm my priorities with the students that I work with, in creating an environment to speak their minds and use their interests to support goals.

I think this course is great for those looking for ideas to improve their therapy activities. Many of these we’ve heard time and time again (poetry, job interview skills, project-based) and some were new to me and very appealing (student-written handbook on bullying, writing a letter to new students). I was hoping for more coverage on research, efficacy, and outcomes, but this training is more for those looking for a list of activity ideas.

I think the part that I can immediately use is the last part about the 3 language strategies to further success. The rest was very different than what I have done before and has given me a lot to think about and take back to my supervising SLP (I am a CSLPA working in both middle and high school) so we can talk about what part of this we can incorporate, how and with which students.

This is the most useful online CEU I've taken yet. I love that Dr. Abendroth addressed both what's going on for these students in terms of both linguistic and social-emotional development. I appreciated the emphasis on student buy-in and consideration of what these students have been through and are still going through at this point in their education and therapy. The specific therapy ideas were awesome too. Thank you!
