The information was shared in a clear and concise manner based upon intervention staging. All ideas presented can be applied to individuals with whom I work, day to day. The importance of ongoing assessment, communication partner training, multi-modality communication and maintaining a focus on the needs of the client/family/caregiver was excellent!

Her presentation style is very clear and organized. She covered a lot of information and was very thorough. My only concern was that she seemed to underestimate the prevalence of cognitive disorders in ALS. 50% of those with ALS can have some degree of cognitive impairments (often mild) with approximately 20% having a fronto-temporal dementia, which would greatly impact their ability to use and benefit from AAC. Cognitive impairments in ALS are not just limited to end stage and those vented.

Wow, this presenter is one of the best teachers I've learned from on speechpathology.com. My father-in-law recently passed away from bulbar-ALS and I wish we could have had a speech therapist like the presenter. I learned so much from this and I can attest that everything she says about counseling, educating, and preparing the patient and family is so important. Thank you for a wonderful learning experience.
