Dr. Robyn Becker is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey. She has almost 30 years of experience as an SLP across settings with children and adults. Most recently, she was a school-based SLP for 17 years with the opportunity to form deep and meaningful interprofessional relationships across disciplines. Her research interests include how SLPs fit into educational frameworks, particularly in the area of emerging literacy.

She has 32 years of teaching experience, with 21 years in her current position. Mrs. Barajas has put in many hours of research and has implemented a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math based environment for both students and teachers in her district as well as in her school. Working with a speech-language pathologist and special education teacher, Mrs. Barajas has taken the challenges of Social Emotional Learning and turned them into concrete experiences using the STEAM method of learning and teaching.

Lauryn is the Language and Learning Disabilities teacher for 1st and 2nd-grade students. Throughout her professional career, she has infused the knowledge and expertise of her colleagues into her own teaching methods and continues to learn about and implement best practices.
