As of 2023, I believe that this information might be a bit dated. For example, the speaker maintains that the CDC recommends surgical-style masks for 'civilian' use (i.e. non-healthcare professionals including us when we are not in out clinical settings). We of course know now after several variations that it's believed that N95 and KN95 masks are necessary for *all* folks to help protect against infection. Things have changed in the time since this presentation was recorded.

The info was confusing with multiple answers per learning target and each question on exam had at least 2 answers that the presenter did discuss and state were "adequate." Different level of disinfection aids and KN95 VS 95 VS SURGIAL MASK were more confusing than helpful. I think I would have felt better had she just given he website only to check how to use each cleansing products effectively.

I was further disappointed to see what I thought was an error in the exam."...as more data came in the CDC issued a clarification in August of 2020 indicating that face shields should actually be viewed as a form of eye protection only for the person wearing it. Currently, there isn't enough evidence to support the effectiveness of face shields as an alternative to traditional masks. Please give example of some of these studies that the CDC has cited as being pro mask. I have read some of these studies and either the experiments are poorly conducted or data largely misinterpreted, at least in the ones I read. There are also many studies out there discussing the harmful effects of masking, especially in children. I am glad that the issue with HI individuals was brought up. Masking is a multi faceted issue and I am sure courses like this will evolve with more information.
