This seems to fit the research supporting teaching literacy skills and phonology in a parallel manner where skills are taught simultaneously not splintered one by one. This was an excellent presentation of incorporating speech and orthography embedded in the same flow, not splintered. The examples were helpful.

I have a concern about the exam. I completed a different speechpathology.com course yesterday also by Dr. Farquharson, and an exact same question appeared on both exams regarding age of acquisition of phonemes. However, the answer scored as correct is different on each exam. Otherwise, this course is excellent.

The information was research based and clinically relevant. It was delivered factually, helpfully, and non-judgmentally. Yay!! Some of the language based phonological awareness activities would be really challenging for younger students and/or students with DLD. I would have liked to see some simpler activities and/or visuals or other scaffolding techniques modeled. I would also have liked to see ways to make sure that we get lots of reps of the target sound- it seemed hard to do that in context
