Some good information for a basic overview about TBI/ depression and it's treatment. I'm sure the presenter has a lot of knowledge in the field but it was a pretty dry presentation, as if a script was just being read.

Very good look at the research and history (APT created in 1986!). Note that virtual and online tx is now frequently used, but I’m not aware that precautions about screen time and exposure to blue light has changed with regard to TBI - still needs to be limited. Hallucinations not limited to severe injury! My own TBI in childhood was considered negligible, no assessment or treatment, but hallucinations started immediately after and have continued throughout life.

I appreciated learning about the prevalence rates of depression and the comorbid factors, as these are importance considerations during an initial interview and will help determine potential prognosis... as depression can prolong or complicate one's overall brain health recovery.

The information was very basic and did not contribute any new ideas to helping my clients with acquired brain injuries who are also experiencing depression. I would appreciate SpeechPathology.com offering more CEUs from more knowledgeable, experienced clinicians who can provide new information that is applicable to clinical practice.

Presentor gave good knowledge of what comprehensive impairments clinicians may expect after tbi and that clients may need referrals for more long term care/ support after speech therapy. What makes presentations excellent in my opinion is far more free talking and not so much reading slides verbatim. We don’t need someone basically reading PowerPoint slides to us, rather, presenting with mixture of reading and talking like this presentor did.

This is a topic that is not discussed enough. There was actually too much information to be presented in an hour time block. Jasleen was organized and knowledgeable, however the speed of her presentation did not allow for learning and adequate processing of this unfamiliar information. It would be great if this topic could be divided into sections and presented separately. The proper implementation of these techniques in the clinic would positively impact the brain injured population.
