Dr. Power-deFur's has a thought-provoking calmness in her presentation. It fosters focus and attention to the information shared. The emphasis on self-assessment in regard to bias and willful blindness coloring our decision making is key. We must be aware of the impact of each. She demonstrated the importance of the use of checklists to be sure we are covering all available information in regard to each patient. This is an excellent course, and I look forward to taking the second course.

I found this course incredibly relatable as she referenced personal scenarios and experienes when translating, if you will, scientist's findings that would otherwise be too conceptually or cognitively advanced to grasp, recall,&relate to.I read this CEU course in total twice, every word, before actually taking the exam because I found the course that interesting and relatable.I didn't change one of my answers on my practice exam after the 2nd reading& scored a 100-so I must of learned something.

The course was extremely well-organized and the presenter's style was very warm and welcoming--very enjoyable to listen to. I was familiar with some of the ideas previously but appreciated the grounding in the work by Kahneman that I was not familiar with. The approach to cognitive bias was slightly different but related to what I had previously encountered in DEI courses so was interesting to see it applied to ethical decision-making and clinical decision-making.
