Dr. Shah has developed successful programs of cross-cultural communication, accent management, accent listening, and diversity training for executives, medical professionals, corporate employees, police and first responders, and university clinics. She is a leader and pioneer in the area of evidence-based accent management as well as accent listening. She is the author of the widely-used and peer-reviewed ASHA-recognized assessment framework and test battery, the Comprehensive Assessment of Accentedness and Intelligiblity (CAAI) used nationally and internationally, with hundreds of registered practitioners and university clinics trained on this protocol. Dr. Shah is passionate about bringing the best scientific evidence from speech science and psychology to clinical practice in order to design, implement, and assess outcomes of programs to help diverse individuals as well as train clinicians in best practice.
