Fantastic presenter; her knowledge of the interaction between ADHA, language, phonology, and literacy is great. I might listen again! Love the quality of the screener tool and how the results are helping students get the right help quicker. Can't wait to share with some Kindergarten teachers!

Well presented course to explain kindergarten readiness and how some children may not be ready for the demand of kindergarten. Having a screener like this early on will be helpful to identify those children needing extra supports. Especially helpful was the research presented on how many children may not be ready for kindergarten based on SES and language learning factors. Also helpful were the visuals that outlined the connections between speech and language to learning of literacy.

This screener would not replace what is currently available. The presenter was somewhat hard tofollow because her presentation was not fluent. After saying that “wait and see” should not be an option, why was Max a “watch” after his screening.Seems odd that math was included.

It was good and did give good info on her screening…but didn’t seem the most organized as she presented the screening profiles. It is helpful, but I feel like if I used this screening tool, I’d have a lot to familiarize myself with first since so much of this presentation was on case studies and not necessarily how to use it. It seems to be a great and comprehensive screener that is much needed at the Kind level right now!

Great overall information about the importance of kindergarten screening. Given large workloads, it seems difficult to do this screen. Also, the district has limited funds so I'm not sure the district would cover the costs as students already are given the state required assessment of early literacy skills.

Not necessarily conducive to how some SLPs screen. Requires paid program and students need tested multiple times where evaluations aren't encouraged until the end of kindergarten. I was hoping for something that would give more immediate recommendations.
