The content of this course was exciting to a more seasoned therapist who admittedly has not been reading up on the newest neurology research applicable to the field. I found the presenter's examples of "real-life" treatment to be professionally affirming, as I have found contextualized, socially engaging and FUNCTIONAL treatment to be most helpful to my patients in the SNF/ "rehab to home" settings to facilitate the best possible patient outcomes.

The information was presented in a clear concise manner which was easily understood and transferrable to the therapy environment. The use of case studies, examples of contextualized treatment strategies, and the positive effect it has on neuroplasticity/patient outcomes enhanced comprehension of the material and provided practical ways to incorporate this knowledge when planning therapy sessions.

Dr. Hinckley is so knowledgeable. I try to read her publications and attend her presentations whenever possible. As always, she was incredibly easy to listen to and she delivered complex information in a relatable and user friendly manner.

As a post-acute rehabilitation SLP, I continue to find the topic of neuroplasticity not only interesting, but important. As a clinician, understanding, at the very least, the fundamentals is critical in truly grasping the journey of ABI recovery. In addition, to be able to educate survivors of CVA and TBI and their family members on this topic provides a sense of hope and understanding to this journey. This course continues to enhance my knowledge so I can be better in both of these aspects.
