Janelle's presentation was excellent. She provided information to facilitate understanding of CRCI and the components which cause it. Her first-hand reports of undergoing brain surgery and her experience with the cognitive effects para and post radiation and chemotherapy significantly added to her presentation.

This was very interesting and not talked about much. I, too, experience CRCI, although it has improved since treatment ended a year and a half ago. This is something speech language pathologists should be aware of!

Such a valuable and unique course. Thank you for being so honest and open about your experience with cancer so that we can understand how to help our patients better. Education regarding CRCI is so important!!! This course also helps me understand the cognitive impairments I'm seeing with a family member who has cancer.

I am currently helping my mother-in-law through her cancer treatment and found this course. I had some concerns about her cognitive functioning and now listening to this definitely helped me to understand how I can help her with my experience as a SLP. Great information that explains the effects from chemotherapy and radiation.

I have cancer. Like trhe presenter, They never told me about this horrible condition that HAD me thinking I am nuts, dying, losing my mind or ending up with dementia. I believe an angel sent me to the computer to start looking this up within my own professional field. I also wonder if medicare will pay me to do therapy on myself, since I am sure they won't pay for an SLP to treat me. I think I will watch this class again. It saved me, mentally speaking.

The fact that Janelle experienced brain surgery and subsequent CRCI after the removal of her brain tumor made her a heroic presenter. She generously shared her personal struggles, challenges and successes with her audience, and began her research for finding ways we as SLPs can help our clients. While I do not work in a hospital setting, I teach a graduate seminar class and this information will be useful for me to share with my students.

This presentation validated what I have experienced during and since my cancer treatments. I returned to college 5 years after my cancer treatments and found that even though I enjoyed and understood the instruction, in the classroom, I was not able to retrieve information for exams. It was very discouraging as I was already a certified teacher and was hoping to earn a masters degree in SLP. I did not pursuit the master's degree but was able to obtain a license to practice as a SLP-A.
