So informative; I love how passionate she is about this topic and really helped draw the line between the SLP role and the AUD role in this. I'd love a part 2 with more resources on how SLPs can refer and connect students/patients with trained and willing audiologists who will take APD seriously and get the family the help they need. I know that's a difficult ask... but we can wish, can't we?

See comment above. There was a lot of Audiology jargon that was not well explained and the parts that did seem relevant clinically were skipped over. It seemed the presenter just wanted to complain about SLPs encroaching in the audiologist's scope and to demand that SLPs stop questioning the validity of APD rather than making valid points or explaining the research. I don't feel that I learned anything. How do we identify these kids? What does not hearing well in noise look like in schools?

I think this course is excellent because APD is not addressed well in schools and could make a huge difference in academic success with appropriate support for the student. I am an SLP and have a 21 year old daughter with diagnosis of CAPD, ADHD, and language processing issues. School has always been difficult for her and I have always equated CAPD to an "invisible wheelchair". Thank you for advocating!!!!!! Teachers had limited understanding and I would have to explain it to them. It is hard as a parent when adults (both teachers and employers) do not understand and think the individual is just not listening hard enough and/or not paying attention.

I feel like this course might have been better for audiologists. It provided some basic information about APD, and some ideas for accommodations, but did not provide any real information about the SLP's role. The presenter provided information about intervention programs, but then stated that they did not need to be implemented by the SLP and often recommends families use them at home.
