I appreciated her thoughts on taking a few things from each approach and integrating them into your practice versus not learning something just because you heard it was wrong or not the right approach - the idea that there are nuggets to take from all evidence based interventions.

I was a little concerned that when she said, "research shows..." that she was citing research that isn't at the highest level. Was that research a meta analysis or systematic review, or was that research an non-blinded study with a small sample size? I know she cited her sources, but who has the time to go read every source? I just think people should be more careful when saying "research shows..." to clarify what level of research they are talking about.

The instructor provided practical ways to apply functional and ethical therapy. It’s very easy to stick to manuals and instructions and prioritize that over the patients/child’s needs. The instructor paved a pathway to get the best/ most useful “ingredients” from every resource and apply what is best for the patient and therapist.
