I hate to be too critical, but the presenter said, "Research indicates" probably over 100 times, but she did not once talk about the strengths and limitations of the research to which she was referring. It honestly seems a little shady. I'm just going to say "research indicates," and you should believe whatever I'm telling you. She seems like a knowledgeable person, but I think she needs to slow down on the "research indicates" unless she's talking about a robust meta analysis or sys review.

When Ms. Vess gave the examples of the speech cues she uses/video of her student with the young child, that was very helpful/eye opening as to how I can use these with my children. Many of my children's attention span is very short and I believe using these cues could help with focus and improve speech production.

I work at as an SLP at 2 outpatient clinics and a preschool for Possibilities Northeast LLC (PNE), where I provide pediatric speech-language therapy. PNE provides services for children with autism through First Steps (birth to 3) and outpatient services 3 years and older. did not agree with all the info provided since it didn't all align with other learning and reading I have done, and common sense to me. For example, not breaking down language models for gestalt learners and teaching language with complete, grammatically intact sentences. This leaves kids stuck in the full gestalts, where breaking down to single words, then increasing to short phrases develops understanding of the individual word meanings so that they can generate novel phrases and sentences.
