The lecturer presented with a slower rate of speech, so this enabled the student (listener) to grasp these new concepts, treatments, and differential diagnoses.

The research seems iffy as it is not complete. The treatment goals also seem to conflict with current trends in treating stuttering, so it was a bit confusing.

The presenter was very through in her recommendations for treatment and considering even the potential to interfere with the client's effectiveness in communication. I thought this really showed a awareness of the presenters concern with really considering a whole picture of best practice and treatment for the client instead it being strictly assessment based.

The information and research shared about atypical disfluency was helpful and validating to my own experiences as a school-based therapist. It also provided me a better way to explain atypical disfluency to teachers and parents and what areas that may need more assessment. I appreciated the treatment information because there's not a lot of research in this area and their study results at least gave me a place to start that proved effective for them.
