When ASHA stated supervisory courses were required, I may have rolled my eyes (just a little.) But I am so glad I chose this course. Nancy organized this information in a great way with interactive assessment pieces that got my gears turning. Although some of this is second nature or has been learned in the past, it was great to be reminded and then learn some new strategies as well.

Didn't seem to highlight becoming a supervisor to graduate students very well. Seemed more of a training for someone already in the role. Felt it had a lot of unrelated topics that could of been more specific to what the person taking the training needs.

I appreciated the terminology: learning partnership. I also appreciated Mrs. Swigert's advice on ways to address difficult conversations. In the beginning of the presentation I also appreciated hearing about the collaborative supervision model and using a 'problem-solving' approach. I try to encourage my CF's to self-reflect on their sessions with what worked and what didn't work (so we can problem solve). I will also consider google docs, but I'm old-school too and like typing up my session.

Nancy is known to be an excellent presenter. I was really excited to hear her speak. I had an expectation of gleaning many nuggets of wisdom from a seasoned clinician and professional. However, I had difficulty "buying into" or connecting with this particular presentation. Presenter is a wonderful person and professional. Topic is good. Information is good. Resources were good. Overall, it was the delivery that earned the rating of "fair".Looking forward to hearing Nancy present, again.
