The instructor had a lot of knowledge in this area. However, she ran through the material fairly quickly and it seemed you would have to be working in the same setting to understand fully what she was talking about.

I just had a hard time following what she was saying. She used some medical jargon I wasn’t familiar with and didn’t explain what acronyms were. I haven’t don’t anything with trachs since grad school, but have always been interested. So even though it was a beginner course, it felt like it wasn’t truly for beginners. That madeIt hard to follow along and fully understand.

This course gives so many details regarding the different types of tracheostomies and their different styles of cuffs. I really appreciated the information regarding emergencies with these patients and how to manage them. Distinguishing laryngectomy patients from trach patients and how to manage their respiration and stoma care was insightful. Thank you!

The information provided was good. The speaker appeared unsure in providing the information as there weer many speaking fillers which reflected more when using the transcript to follow along or to review. The transcript was not well written in respect to paragraph formation which also made it difficult. The power point was well constructed.

The absolute best RT presentation on artificial airways for an SLP audience that I’ve attended in my 30+ years of being an SLP because the information was well organized and without complex RT specific details that are difficult to assimilate for those with an ST background. Specific artificial airway parameters were provided for an ST level of understanding to help with improved bedside assessment, post eval recommendations, and emergency management.

She was an amazing speaker. She pointed to specific parts of the tracheostomy tubes, her course content was presented in an easy to follow format with lots of diagrams and pictures. She clearly mentioned what type of trach can't be used for a speaking valve. She is an excellent teacher and would take more of her courses. I learned so much today and understood it too.
