I do not personally work on feeding but I have worked with students who struggle with feeding. This course helped me to understand their struggles and ways to work on it. As an SLP I find it important to understand the children I work with and this course was very helpful and had very practical strategies to work on feeding. Perhaps with more training I will start to work with students who struggle with eating/feeding.

Extremely useful information. I enjoyed the examples and visuals as well. Instructors teaching style was very easy to process. My only suggestion is to provide more examples/visuals for "praise vs encouragement". I feel this is a tough area, as we want to give the child that positive feedback, but having go-to phrases would have been useful.

The question in the exam about the 'goal of feeding therapy is..' I feel like helping the child be a successful eater is a valid response to that question. the answer 'help the parents successfully feed their child' feels like the parents are putting the food in the child's mouth. That's not the goal of feeding therapy. Just some feedback on the phrasing of that question. Maybe rephrase it as "help the child and family members have successful interactions with food and positive mealtimes"

My supervisor does a lot of feeding therapy and was always referencing this speaker, and the Get Permission approach. I was really glad to see this course listed here. The emphasis on "no pressure" is really a good concept for us to teach parents. I recommended this course to anyone I know who is also starting out in feeding therapy.
