I appreciate the aspect that was discussed about dialect and its effect on young children who then may struggle with grammar and syntax. I, in fact, have a young child with dyslexia whose struggles are compounded by the dialectal differences he encounters with his family, that has a strong Texas dialect.

It was very informative, but I found much of the information too complex to truly understand. I felt that the presenter needed to use language that could be more easily understood by those who are not as familiar with this topic as she is. After all, many of us, I would think, are viewing the presentation to BECOME more knowledgeable about this topic. The vocabulary she uses would be more suited to those who are already familiar. I could have benefitted from more examples. It was boring, too.
