It was very informative, but I found much of the information too complex to truly understand. I felt that the presenter needed to use language that could be more easily understood by those who are not as familiar with this topic as she is. After all, many of us, I would think, are viewing the presentation to BECOME more knowledgeable about this topic. The vocabulary she uses would be more suited to those who are already familiar. I could have benefitted from more examples. It was boring, too.

I think that the resources for articles is always helpful; however, I'm looking for more concrete ways to improve my practice. For instance, specific tools (assessment, therapy etc.) and examples provided. This is a great course for people in grad school who are looking to learn the basics. I would prefer to be given more specific information in detail. I realize this may have not been the purpose of the course, but it is often what SLPs are searching for when taking CEUs.

Being that I work with students older than the Brown's grammatical morpheme table, I feel more assured in my approaches to identify syntactic abnormalities of older children who may be using correct pronouns and prepositions listed from Brown.

The provider presented lots of excellent information about the impact of syntactic difficulties on comprehension and pragmatic language skills for older students. The information in this course was presented in an organized and easy to reference manner for future application and referral. While the information provided a framework and rationale for SLPs working with students who struggle with grammar and syntax, I would look forward to a Part 2 course (and possibly a Part 3 course) in which more application was presented to research-based intervention strategies across school-age populations, including older elementary and adolescent populations.
